UFOS, ALIENS, AND WHY I'M NOT LOSING SLEEP OVER IT

With all the recent talk about UFO documents being released, it seems like a lot of people are suddenly worried about aliens from outer space. Honestly, I don’t really understand the panic.

People have been talking about UFO sightings for as long as I can remember, and long before I was born, if you can believe that. The most famous one was probably the Roswell incident back in 1947. No, I wasn’t around then, but I remember hearing about it when I was a little kid in school almost 20 years later. Did it scare me? Not really. Did I fully understand it? Of course not.

Since then, there have been hundreds of reported sightings all over the world. Some involve military pilots, police officers, radar operators, and regular everyday people. A few of the bigger ones include the Phoenix Lights in Arizona, the Rendlesham Forest incident in England, the Navy “Tic Tac” sightings off California, and the Belgian UFO wave that even showed up on military radar.

Now, I’m not saying every story is true. Some probably have simple explanations. Some probably don’t. But here’s what I find interesting: people immediately jump to the idea that aliens would automatically want to destroy us.

Why?

If there really is intelligent life out there capable of traveling across the universe, they’re obviously way more advanced than we are. My first thought would be that they’d also probably be more intelligent. Most intelligent people don’t spend all their time trying to wipe out less advanced civilizations for no reason.

And honestly, if some alien race really did decide to take over Earth, what exactly are we supposed to do about it? If they can travel across galaxies, I’m guessing they’re not too worried about our fighter jets and missiles. At that point, stressing over it seems kind of pointless. Besides, they would probably be better than anything the democrats have to offer.

Most Americans already have enough real-world problems to worry about:

  • crime,
  • healthcare costs,
  • taxes,
  • and the thought of liberals taking control of Congress.

Compared to all that, aliens aren’t exactly at the top of my concern list.

And if we’re being honest, I’m not convinced an alien invasion could create more confusion and division than our own politicians already manage on a daily basis.

One thing I do wonder about, though, is this: with all the technology we have today, 4K security cameras, which is a major part of my business, smartphones everywhere, military satellites, drones, and high-end optics, so why are almost all UFO photos and videos still blurry?

You’d think by now somebody would capture crystal-clear footage instead of another shaky, grainy video that looks like it was filmed on a flip phone from 2003.

That’s probably the biggest reason I stay skeptical.

Do I believe there could be life somewhere else in the universe? Absolutely. The universe is just too massive for us to assume we’re the only living things in it.

Do I believe every light in the sky is aliens? Not even close.

At the end of the day, most Americans are probably like me: curious, skeptical, and not particularly interested in panicking over something nobody truly understands yet.
