RUSSIA-GATE, THE COUP THAT NEARLY SUCCEEDED
Readers of my commentaries may wonder why, barely two weeks after my last piece on Russia-gate, I’m back at it again. The answer is simple: I’ve believed from the very beginning that Russia-gate was a fraud, an orchestrated deception designed to overturn the will of the people. I wrote about it ad nauseam when the story first broke and have never wavered in my belief that it represents the single most egregious act of political treachery at the highest levels of government in American history. It was nothing less than a coup attempt of epic proportions, and it almost succeeded.
Last Monday, on the advice of Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Department of Justice launched a grand jury probe into Russia-gate after explosive documents were released by National Security Director Tulsi Gabbard. These revelations confirm what some of us knew from the start: Russia-gate was not an investigation; it was an operation.
In 2016, while Donald Trump was running for president, the Obama administration and its allies pushed the false claim that Russia had hacked U.S. infrastructure to help him win. Even after Trump’s victory, the smear campaign continued, consuming the early years of his presidency and costing taxpayers millions, until COVID pushed it off the front pages.
Recently, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley released documents showing the FBI, under Obama, knowingly advanced the hoax for Hillary Clinton’s political gain, and then buried the truth. Grassley put it bluntly: “The Obama and Biden administration’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies were weaponized against President Trump… one of the biggest political scandals and cover-ups in American history.”
Gabbard’s declassified files reveal that in December 2016, President Obama ordered his deputies to prepare an intelligence assessment on Russia’s alleged election interference – directly implicating CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, and DNI James Clapper.
According to the Durham Report (Crossfire Hurricane), the idea to tie Trump to Russia originated with Clinton’s foreign policy adviser, Julianne Smith, was approved by Clinton herself, and was pushed by DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and George Soros’s lieutenant Leonard Bernardo.
Bernardo’s own email left no doubt: “HRC approved Julia’s idea about Trump and Russian hackers… This should distract people from her own missing email… CrowdStrike and ThreatConnect will supply the media.”
The New York Post notes that it’s unclear who will be charged – if anyone – because the statute of limitations has likely expired. In other words: Washington’s favorite play – run out the clock.
Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution defines treason as “levying war against [the United States], or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” What else do you call a coordinated effort to nullify an election, obstruct a sitting president, and deceive the American people?
Historically, treason has been punishable by death. Sixteen executions in our history, none since 1862. The last person sentenced to be executed for treason was Tomoya Kawakita, in 1952. His sentence was commuted to life in prison by President Eisenhower and then later released by President Kennedy (just before he was assassinated) and barred from ever returning to the United States.
The last execution for treason took place in 1862, when William Bruce Mumford was hanged for tearing down a U.S. flag over Confederate New Orleans, a “crime” that pales in comparison to the Obama-Clinton conspiracy to undermine and possibly overturn the 2016 presidential election.
Compare that to the Russia-gate conspirators. No prison or trial. And, if the Swamp gets its way, no accountability.
Russia-gate was not just about Trump – it was about power and malfeasance. If high-ranking officials can conspire to fabricate evidence, weaponize intelligence, and undermine a presidency without consequence, then no election result is truly safe.
This was a coup in all but name. And it almost worked.
