Before my grandfather died in the late 80’s, he requested an epitaph on his tombstone stating, “A Democrat.” A very frugal but outspoken man, he was a staunch Democrat. At the time, I think he would have voted Democrat even if the Ayatollah Khomeini had been on “his” ticket.

All these decades later though, I wonder what he would think of the Democrat party of today. Has there ever been a bigger spectacle than those that occupy the Democrat party now?

According to a recent Quinnipiac poll, the Democrat party has a 21% approval rating, about the level of whale dung. That is half of Joe Biden’s approval rating. Richard Nixon had a 24% approval rating, just before he resigned the presidency.

It appears the Democrat party doesn’t care what Americans think. As mentioned by ultra-Democrat James Carville, Democrats have lost their mind over Trump. Carville lamented the recent Democrats behavior during Trump’s presidential address to the nation, calling their actions foolish. He placed the responsibility on Minority Leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. 

Consider the actions of Texas rep Al Green throwing a tantrum on the floor of the House during Trump’s address. Never in my life have I ever seen a congressman thrown out of a presidential speech. He was subsequently censored by the House. He’s voted to impeach Trump four times.

During Trump’s speech, Secret Service Director Sean Curran presented 13 y/o, DJ Daniel, who wants to be a policeman, with an honorary Secret Service badge. DJ is currently battling brain and spinal cancer. Democrats sat expressionless instead of applauding the young man. They did the same thing when Trump introduced Jason Hartley, who would be following his father, grandfather and great-grandfather’s legacy of serving in the military. Trump Derangement Syndrome is so rampant in the Democrat party, they can’t even show compassion for these type people because they were presented by Trump.

Congressman Democrat John Larson, on the public teat since 1983, recently vented his spleen during a House Ways & Means committee. He was directing his ire at DOGE head Elon Musk, who is currently reviewing social security fraud  with dead people collecting taxpayer money. So far, Musk has found $31 million in bogus payments and claims it’s just the tip of the iceberg. Musk was not even at the meeting.   

Recently, every Democrat in the US Senate blocked a measure of keeping men out of women’s sports. They and various Dem governors and mayors are also apoplectic about the ICE raids removing illegal aliens from our country.  It’s ludicrous these two items even have to be debated.

At the time of writing this, Congress is preparing to kick the can down the road again for the budget, an all-too-familiar rite of passage for DC politicians. This time, its’ the Dems turn at threatening to block another short term spending bill, taking the “moral high ground.” Just a few months ago, they were accusing the Republican party of the same thing and that the government should never be shut down. Then Schumer changed his mind and stated he would vote to keep the government open, sending Dems into convulsions. The two reps leading the charge against Schumer are incredibly Sandy Cortez and Maxine Waters, possibly two of DC’s greatest embarrassments.  

Ironically, the one Democrat seemingly making any sense is Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman. He claims to be a staunch supporter of keeping the government open and that no party should ever shut down the government. Having said that, Fetterman also said he didn’t believe men should be competing in women’s sport, then absurdly voted in lock-step with the rest of the Democrats to vote the measure down.

Democrats are having conniptions concerning every aspect of Musk’s leadership of the DOGE. Why? Isn’t it the responsibility of every duly elected official to welcome efforts to curtail wasteful spending of taxpayer money? Are they hiding something? Musk is finding billions of wasted taxpayer money everywhere he looks. They should be applauding his efforts!

When a political party spends every minute trying to undermine a sitting (and mentally sound) president why is that not considered treason? How does their resistance help Americans? I question the wisdom of anyone who votes for a Democrat in the foreseeable future. It’s time we removed them, then turn our focus on corrupt judges and Republican congressman.  

My grandfather had a few eccentricities, but ignorance wasn’t one of them. I have to think he would have turned his back on the Democrat party. In his honor, I’ve just about got that epitaph scratched off his stone.
