AN EVENING WITH TRUMP, CARLSON, & KENNEDY
For Halloween, the wife and I headed to Glendale AZ for a Tucker Carlson Live tour, with Donald Trump, in a benefit for hurricane victims. There were 18,000 people in attendance, the capacity of the Desert Diamond Arena. For that night, it was MAGA country, a sea of red-hatted people.
Carlson puts on an entertaining show for us conservatives. In addition to the president, also speaking was Bobby Kennedy Jr., his former running mate, Nicole Shanahan and Fox News’ Charlie Kirk.
Kirk gave a rousing speech about the importance of voting. Nicole Shanahan, a lifelong Democrat, brought her mail-in ballot and voted for Trump on stage.
I found Kennedy’s speech remarkable. He claims he didn’t leave the Democrat party, the Democrat party left him. He warned of the intrusion of Big Pharma into our lives, pointing to their staggering growth while at the same time, Americans are becoming more overweight and more diseased. He gave statistics between today and the early 60’s as proof, adding that mainstream media is complicit for covering most of it up.
If Trump ware to be elected, Kennedy promised to ban all pharmaceutical advertising on television, pointing out the US was one of only two countries in the world that allow pharmacological advertising, New Zealand being the other. Later on, Trump promised if elected he would put Kennedy in charge of health and medicine, a veiled threat to Big Pharma.
Carlson spoke with his usual flair mixing conservative politics with humor. Humorously, he mentioned his former employer, FOX, negatively a few times. He made an interesting observation about Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger defecting to the Democrat party as compared to Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk and Kennedy joining Trump’s party, finding it to be an excellent trade.
He poked fun at Alexandria Cortez, pointing out the irony that the left wing loon has the same last name as the conquistador Hernan Cortez from Spain. OK, I admit that was like shooting fish in a barrel, but it was funny.
The place rocked when Trump appeared. Carlson and Trump sat on leather chairs with American flags as a backdrop. Carlson asked, what yahoo news reported softball questions, during their 90 minute conversation. OK, they were softball questions, but Trump was able to deftly expand on them.
President Trump talked about a variety of issues, including border control, Kamala Harris, abortion, Democrats election cheating, Kamala Harris, trans women in girls’ sports, the hawkish John Bolton, Kamala Harris, Space X, Dick and Liz Cheney…and Kamala Harris.
He warned Kennedy that if he wanted a position on his cabinet, he would have to accept Trump’s pro-oil stance, calling it liquid gold. Kennedy has been a critic of oil drilling and fracking.
Having watched hundreds of Tucker Carlson shows on Fox, it was incredible to actually see him in person. He’s no different on that show than he is on that stage.
It was an honor to listen to Bobby Kennedy as I came away with a new appreciation of him and his opinions of Big Pharma and childhood wellness. I would welcome him into the Republican party, or a cabinet position any time.
We went to the event though to hear and see President Trump and were not disappointed. It was the first time in my life I was in the same room with an American president.
Trump walked on stage around 8:30 PM Arizona time, which would be 11:30 PM on the east coast where he lives, looking refreshed and well groomed. This from a 77 y/o man that had previously given a speech earlier in the day in New Mexico. He was articulate, and completely in possession of all his faculties as opposed to you-know-who, speaking on matters important to Conservatives.
As I looked on, it was hard to believe this man had been shot, but as ordained by God himself, was still plugging away. Having now seen him in person, I’m confident I made the right choice when I voted last week.
