IMPEACH TRUMP – PART III
It’s amusing, if not pathetic, there is another movement to impeach Trump. The new president received 77 million votes and captured 270 electoral college votes on his way to humiliating Harris, yet reportedly 100,000 people have signed a petition to impeach him again. That makes the score 77 million people for Trump and 100,000 to impeach.

Free Speech for People launched the petition the day Trump was inaugurated. This time primarily for the Emoluments Clause, unlawful conduct during his campaign, and pardoning the J6 Capitol protestors.

Unfortunately, there is no law prohibiting how many times someone can be impeached. It’s expensive to conduct impeachment proceedings. Estimates on the cost of the first two impeachments go as high as $33 million. The impeachment process is also distracting to the day-to-day activities of the president and only produces more division in the country.

The time is right to limit how many times any one individual should be able to be brought up on impeachment charges at the whim of a few disgruntled voters or politicians playing political games. Trump should seek to change the law while he hangs on to the Republican advantage in Congress.
