President Reagan once quipped, “The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” One might wonder if he would be so polite in his choice of words today.
For over two years Democrats and the media cautioned us to wait for the conclusion of the Mueller Report. Mueller would prove President Trump colluded with Russia to steal the presidency. Then they could impeach him, even charge him with treason. Twenty-five million bucks later the report was released. Turns out Trump did not collude with Russia after all.
Instead of being relieved, many in the Democrat party, with Rep. Jerry Nadler leading the charge, are still whining. Some say Attorney General William Barr is a “wingman” for Trump and the report can’t be believed, particularly with all those pesky redactions. Others look at the report and say Trump should be impeached because he obstructed with the investigation.
Take a look at the primary force behind impeachment, Rep. Nadler from New York, among the most liberal of Congressmen. (I won’t insult your intelligence by citing ramblings from Maxine Waters.) Nadler also called for the impeachment of president George W. Bush and vice president Dick Cheney. Now he’s calling for the impeachment of President Trump. However, he called impeachment proceedings against former president Bill Clinton a “partisan railroad job.” Evidently Nadler’s job is to railroad impeachment proceedings against those not a Democrat. Nadler’s obviously a political hack whose bloviations shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Then there are the liberals who don’t trust the honesty of AG William Barr. The Washington Post opined Barr used “incredibly misleading words” in his interpretation to exonerate the president. The New Yorker magazine called for the impeachment of Barr over his handling of the Mueller report. After years of Obama’s personal AG henchmen, Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, ensuring Obama could do whatever he wanted, combined with the ineptitude that was Jeff Sessions, one would think America might be ready for someone trustworthy in the office. Or perhaps at least wait to give him time to be caught doing something not in America’s best interest. It’s not like he tried to run guns or had a meeting on an airport tarmac with the husband of a woman he’s investigating.
The obstruction questions are equally ridiculous, with or without redactions. It’s just a way to continue with the harassment of the man who beat the chosen one, Hillary Clinton. With every Democrat and most Republicans in Washington DC gunning to take Trump down, along with a complicit media, did you really expect the man to sit and do nothing while being accused of selling out his country? It’s all political gamesmanship on our dime, and is getting absolutely nothing done for the country.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi knows the impeachment gambit is not going to work, and may blow up on the Democrats come election time, just as it did for those Republicans absurdly impeaching Bill Clinton. So, her game plan now is to get ten-years’ worth of Donald Trump’s financial records which she directed Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings to subpoena. At what gain is knowing Trumps personal financial records – how will that help the country? You’d have to be a tax attorney just to understand them. Are we going to put Pelosi’s on display too? How about yours?
Recently, in a show of the ultimate in hypocrisy, Hillary clumsily wriggled up on the impeachment bandwagon without falling – the woman who deleted 30,000 emails, used bleach bit in hard drives, and smashed phones with hammers was calling the pot black.
In the meantime, Trump has unleashed a robust economic agenda on this country not seen in decades. Unemployment and taxes are down while the stock market and wages are up, – nearly all at record levels. The world is a safer place than it was under Obama or Bush. China is being brought in line with their unfair trading practices.
When Liberals’ every act is out of spite to thwart the president, they become nothing more than obstructionists, bordering on sedition. It’s not doing our country any good with this constant taunting and in-fighting for political gain. Think of what all Trump might have gotten done if he didn’t have to fight with Swamp creatures every day.
Regardless of what side you fall on this issue, you have to be tired of hearing about it. Think of how much better our country could be.
