Now that the Mueller Witch Hunt has satisfied itself that neither President Trump or any member of his family or inner circle colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential campaign, one would think the country would unite and rejoice. We do not have an imposter or Russian puppet in the White House after all. This is news to be celebrated.
After a two-year civil battle dividing our great nation, we can now settle the election, and come together as a united America. We can focus on repairing our roads, infrastructures, and borders. We can double-down on our new unity to smite ISIS and related entities off the face of the earth once and for all. Our economy can continue to flourish to record levels never before seen in the history of mankind, making America even stronger, greater and prouder than ever before. We can shut China off from stealing our resources. And all of this new beginning would have been a bargain for the twenty-five-million-dollar price-tag Mueller spent.
But there is that nagging question - who set this “Witch Hunt” in motion and what should be done about it?
There are few Conservatives, me included, that doesn’t wonder, or even believe, if it was none other than Hillary Clinton and/or Barack Obama. We understand now there really IS a Deep State division of the Swamp, consisting of former past Obama and Clinton henchmen like James Clapper, John Brennan, Jim Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and others, all to have Hillary coronated to continue on with Obama’s destruction of America and promote a New World Order.
Can we prove it – not a chance. Some things you just know.
And on the other side of the coin, there aren’t many Liberals that don’t want to believe the Mueller report was all a hoax and that Trump outfoxed everyone again. Hillary should have won the White House but Trump, with the help of Russia, swiped it right from underneath her. They have been waiting these past two years for the Official and Final Guardian of All Things Justice, Robert Mueller, to issue his detrimental ruling against Trump, so they can erase the 2016 election nightmare and bestow it to who it rightfully belongs to – Hillary Clinton.
Can they prove it – not a chance. Some things they just know.
Republican congressmen are all pounding their chests while strutting around telling everyone they told them so, even though most covertly despise Trump. Democrat congressmen who openly loathe Trump, are on the defensive, parsing words, vowing to fight the good fight and dig deeper into the ogre that sits in the Oval office. It would appear the report we American taxpayers paid dearly for is merely artwork, the beauty in the eyes of the beholder.
If only America had a mechanism, a beacon of some sort that we might trust, that would dig deeper and ferret this type of information out, and then explain it to us so evidence would become irrefutable. Malice and corruption at any level would be revealed to the public to be dealt with accordingly. Truth would prevail.
We used to have that beacon. It was called the American media. And they used to be good at it too. Or so we thought.
The biggest loser in this whole fiasco has been our own media, ninety percent of which openly cheered for taking down a duly elected American president – against the will of the people. They went about it deceitfully, if not in a traitorous manner. News outlets such as CNN and MSNBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post spewed garbage world-wide nearly hourly with a barrage of misinformation and innuendos against Trump. The popular ten-million-dollar per year CNN host, Rachel Maddow, nearly came to tears over the news Trump had been vindicated.
They hired the very henchmen, Brennan and Clapper, that are conceivably part of some sort of Deep State, so as to willfully misdirect us further. Imagine what those men really know.
The Times and the Post received Pulitzer Prize Awards for their fabrications about the Trump Witch Hunt, rendering the Pulitzer as insignificant as the Nobel Peace Prize sitting on Obama’s mantel. People lapped up this garbage as if it were fact, and now, most can’t be convinced otherwise after all this time.
A coup against our president? Was it the media’s hatred of anything Trump? Perhaps love of Hillary? Money, the root of most evil? Or something more sinister, an active accomplice within a Deep State to take our country away from us, in favor of a socialist New World Order?
We can expect this type of behavior out of politicians and bureaucrats. The media though, is an entirely different matter, and without them keeping us honestly informed, our country may very well be doomed.
Did you see the headline about the protest at the State Capitol last Wednesday concerning abortion? Evidently, in its quest to keep up with California and New York as the most progressive states, Illinois is considering new legislation which basically kicks open any remaining doors to abortion, and at your expense. To protest this ridiculous legislation, there was a small contingent of Pro-Life activists and a few legislators in attendance.
According to Rebecca Anzel of Capitol News Illinois, the “bills are proposed by four Democrats from both chambers of the General Assembly. One would allow a minor to get an abortion procedure without notifying her parent or guardian. The other would repeal and replace the state’s abortion statute with language supporters say is more up-to-date.”
The first bill is designed to take your parental right away should your minor daughter get impregnated. OK, to be politically correct, it would imply in case your minor son gets impregnated too. In their radicalism to mandate that no other person, being or legislative body dare have any say in stopping the aborting of a baby, the “anti-life” group is now perfectly content with taking your parental rights away as well. In their mind, you will allow for abortions, it’s none of your business who is having an abortion, including your daughter, and you will help pay for hers and others whether you like it or not. You pay for abortion through your taxes because the government believes they know how to spend your money better than you do.
As I read the rest of the article, the “language” updates are designed to keep out any future meddling the United States Supreme Court might do. The “anti-life” group is worried the murder of future babies could be slowed should SCOTUS start meddling in that whole Roe v Wade decision.
My limited Bible teaching taught me there were Ten Commandments, but it seems as if with the “anti-life” group the 1973 Roe v Wade decision became the equivalent of the addition of an Eleventh Commandment that was added to Moses’ original tablets. Does seem to clash with “Thou Shalt Not Kill” directive though.
One Illinois legislator, Representative Terri Bryant, a Republican from Murphysboro, was quoted as saying, “I feel a little bit like I’ve fallen through the rabbit hole. Everything is upside down, backwards and inside out in just using the name.” The bill, she argued, has nothing to do with reproductive health. I re-read that last line a few times. Bingo, I thought.
I was not there nor would I know Rep. Bryant if she smacked me upside the head. But I felt her comments did in fact, hit me right upside my hard-old Chebanse noggin. Because it’s exactly the way I feel, as well as most/both of my readers, when I hear this type of thought or legislation being forced down our throat. I thought maybe it was just living this close to Chicago, but Rep Bryant could hardly live any further away and still be in Illinois.
The “rabbit-hole feeling” is happening regularly in progressive states like Illinois, New York, and California – all states which people are leaving in droves. We have to wonder, where has the sanity gone? You want to do what, and I need to pay for it? Who’s going to pay for it after we all leave? Didn’t Ayn Rand write eloquently on that very subject in 1957 in her novel “Atlas Shrugged?
Seems American life is becoming a giant rabbit hole:
Abort babies practically at will, regardless of age or citizenship status;
Allow sixteen-year-olds and illegal aliens to vote;
Disallow any territorial borders or barriers regardless of carnage inflicted on others;
Collude on presidential elections at the highest level and when that doesn’t work – keep the president embroiled in defending himself rather than enacting legislation good for all Americans.
Gender-neutral pronouns, reparations, free college, free health-care, Social-Democrats, and gun control conversations had as if it is just a matter of time that we will all just understand and succumb. They’ll tell us where to deposit our guns and how much to write the check for.
I’m beginning to wonder how much further we, as an American people, can go down this road. Radical ideologies, regardless of which way of center, simply cannot be tolerated by those that are furthest from the fashionable views.
The Democratic party continues to hurl itself further left, while the alternative, the Republican party stands around with a look of a deer caught up in headlights. Even older Democrats have to question how much more they can hold on for, as surely, they have the proverbial tiger by the tail.
As Mike Madigan points out rocks Governor Pritzker is supposed to look under for new ways to tax Illinois citizens in order to pay for politicians’ past misdeeds, you should start thinking about gathering information together in order to file your taxes timely.
Fortunately, Washington DC politicians are so busy eating each other while obstructing Trump from pulling the plug on the Swamp, they have not gotten around to figuring out additional ways to tax us. Eventually they will get back to it, but they understand they have to get rid of Trump first.
Did you know there was no Federal personal income tax in the US before 1861? It was enacted to help pay for the Civil War. It amounted to 3% of all income over $800, which would be about $22,300 today. A friend asked if perhaps the secessionist states should have had to pay for it, but I was afraid to ask.
The government must have taken a liking to sticking their hands in the collective pockets of the citizenry…so well that they passed it permanently with the Wilson-Gorman tariff in 1894, the first-time during a period of peace. At that time, tax was 2% on income over $4000, or about $116,000 now. Still, fewer than 10% of households paid any income tax. The “explanation” for this tax was to make up for revenue that would be lost by tariff reductions. So, Pandora’s box was kicked open because of tariff reductions. Ironically, 135 years later, President Trump is trying to level the playing field for America’s tariffs, which protect some at the expense of others.
There were some political shenanigans over income tax, as it was not constitutionally legal according to the 10 Amendment of that pesky Constitution. Congress went around that by establishing the 16th Amendment. Anybody remember the Constitution? Look under Obama’s shoe.
As people like Pritzker or members of the US House lay awake at night trying to figure out taxing the air we breathe, have you considered everything the average working stiff pays for in taxes?
In 2014, under the pseudo-name Tyler Durdin of “Fight Club” fame, Zero Hedge blog author Daniel Ivandjiiski penned an article listing ninety-seven taxes leveled at the average person. In the interest of brevity, I listed some below:
Air Transport, Biodiesel, Capital Gains, Cigarettes, Dog Licenses, Driver’s Licenses, Employer Health Insurance, Employer Medicare, Employer Social Security, Environmental Fees, Estate Taxes, Federal Corporate, Income, and Unemployment, Food/Beverage Licenses, Garbage, Gasoline, Gift Taxes, Guns, Hazardous Material Disposal, Hotel Rooms, Imports, Inheritance, Insurance, Interstate User Diesel Fuel, License Plates, Liquor, Local School, Local Unemployment, Luxury Taxes, Marriage Licenses, Medicare, Obamacare Excise Tax, Real Estate, Sales Taxes, Sewer & Water, School Taxes, Social Security, Special Assessments For Road Repairs, Sports Stadiums, State Corporate Taxes, State Income, State Unemployment (SUTA), Telephone – five different taxes, Alternative Minimum Tax, Tire Taxes and Recycling Fees, Tolls, Use Taxes (Out of state purchases, etc.), Utility Taxes, Vehicle Registration, Watercraft Registration & Licensing, and Workers Compensation.
Obviously, some taxes are necessary, such as for schools or hazardous waste to use as examples, but most of this is no more than the government taking from us to spread around as they see fit, such as placing an expensive art sculpture in a government building perhaps. Real estate taxes have become no more than common theft, with residents of California, Illinois, and New York leaving in droves. I saw a meme the other day that NY Governor Cuomo was honored for the leading salesmen for U-Haul for the fourth year in a row.
If you have kept dinner down, consider other absurd tax facts:
The tax code governing US workers is 3.8 million words long. By contrast, the Bible is 807,000 words.
In 1940, the instructions for Form 1040 was two pages long. Today, it is 189 pages.
In 1998 Money Magazine had forty-six different tax professionals complete a tax return for a hypothetical household. All of them came up with a different result.
In 2009, PC World had five tax preparation software websites prepare a tax return for a hypothetical household. All five came up with a different result.
The average American has to work until April 17th just to pay federal, state, and local taxes. This gives great credence to a quote by Thomas Sowell:
“Elections should be held on April 16th- the day after we pay our income taxes. That is one of the few things that might discourage politicians from being big spenders.”
Finally, I’ll leave you with perhaps one of the greatest quotes concerning taxes and our government, as eloquently stated by former president, Ronald Reagan:
“The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much.”
Did you hear that Democratic Chairman and life-long Swamp creature, Tom Perez has banned Fox News from televising any of the twelve primary debates? Seems Mr. Perez is concerned there might be some ties between President Trump and Fox News, the one news source not dedicated to a constant stream of anti-Trump rhetoric. Others have opined Perez thought Fox News hosts asked questions that were too tough on the candidates in the past, which of course was denied.
Mr. Perez obtained his information of possible Trump-to-Fox-ties from an article published by Jane Mayer in the New Yorker magazine, a far-left leaning publication. She stated that then-candidate Trump MAY have been tipped off to questions during the 2016 Republican primary debates by various Fox News sources.
In the prior sentence please notice I used capital letters for the word “MAY”, meaning it may or may not have happened, and as yet to be proven. This is in stark contrast to the fact that the prior DNC Chairwoman, Donna Brazille admitted to tipping off Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential debates…twice. In other words, Trump MAY have gotten inside questions but we KNOW Clinton got inside questions.
To date, the DNC has awarded rights to televise the debates to NBC and CNN. One would think in the political morass we now find ourselves, the DNC would want the largest audiences possible for the upcoming presidential debates. How else are they going to take back the White House from that dastardly Trump? Surely, they are aware Fox News annihilates CNN regularly in cable ratings every time the numbers are released. At this time, there are twice as many viewers to Fox News as there are to CNN News.
Why would Mr. Perez and the DNC want to close off millions of potential viewers to the DNC debates? I personally might watch NBC, but I can guarantee the DNC right now, I wouldn’t watch CNN if Jesus himself was hosting the debate. CNN and their CEO, Mark Zucker are that untrustworthy. I know a lot of people that feel the same way about CNN. Please, before you anti-Webber folks tell yourself the same is true of your feelings about Fox “Noise”, look at the ratings. The Nickelodeon and Hallmark Channels rate higher than CNN.
Speaking of the anti-Webber folks, including those that would like to see me banished from the Journal, I would like to point out that in a less significant way, the issue of Fox being denied coverage and people wishing me gone are similar. That’s what the Left does, if you disagree with them, they want you banished. The DNC believes Fox to favor Trump, so they want to deny Fox coverage. Readers know that I favor Trump and Conservatism, so some want me removed. They believe in their First Amendment Rights to say what they want, but not Fox viewers or Trump supporters. We are to shut up.
This is standard procedure with the Left. They are angry Hillary Clinton was not coronated President, so they want President Trump removed, and by any means possible, legal or otherwise. Once it became apparent the Mueller Witch Hunt was probably not going to find any Russian collusion by Trump, House Representatives started digging into Trump matters before his election. (If you recall, all of Obama’s information was sealed.) It has gotten so bad, certain schools and restaurants have banned Trump attire. People are actually demanding and enforcing other people not to wear attire with the name of the sitting President of the United States because it might offend someone. Have we gone nuts?
The Left doesn’t believe in guns, except on their personal body guards, so they demand to take away the 2nd Amendment rights of millions of Americans. And they are in the process of doing so, chipping away yearly at existing laws.
Through taxation, the Left demands everyone fund abortions, a procedure Conservatives find abhorrent to their beliefs. I wonder if a lady can get an abortion wearing a MAGA hat?
The Left doesn’t want our southern border walled to deny entry to illegal aliens, despite the fact without a barrier it puts Americans in peril and costs billions. They scream of the immorality, when just ten years ago they were all clamoring for a wall. Then Dems figured out the demographics and how it would change the power structure inside the murky Swamp that Trump is trying to drain. Many of these same people live behind fences or in gated communities. Google the walls around Nancy Pelosi’s or Barack Obama’s mansions some time.
Here’s a question for the Democratic Left. Which Rights are you willing to give up?
Last Wednesday, the Left and their water carrier, the national media, were giddy with anticipation. Former Trump attorney and convicted liar, Michael Cohen was getting hauled before Congress, again, where it was anticipated he would detonate some “bombshells” that would once and for all imprison that pesky President Donald Trump, the man who denied Hillary her thrown. An orange jumpsuit was surely not far away for Trump.
Perhaps if Democrats get their wish, Trump and Cohen will serve sentences in the same jail cell, as we already know Mr. Cohen will be serving three years for lying to Congress. As I pointed out in a prior commentary, it is a Federal offense to lie to Congress, but it’s just “politics-as-usual” for politicians to lie to us. Somehow, we got our cart before our horse on that procedure, but that’s a commentary for another day.
This hearing was such a big deal to the media that they showed the procedure on live television, usually with a split screen of President Trump, who was in Vietnam at the time merely trying to negotiate nuclear disarmament with North Korea. Now this is where I have to come clean with you. Even me, a political junkie, finds talks with North Korea about as exciting as watching paint dry. Somehow, I feel deep down inside we should be more interested, but it just seems there’s so much unnecessary pomp and circumstance. Why don’t we just let Dennis Rodman go over and handle it? He can tell us how it went afterwards. (By the way, there is no truth to the rumor that the first time Kim Jong Un met Rodman he thought it was former president Barack Obama.)
Former civil rights leader, and Congressional dinosaur, Elijah Cummings, oversaw the proceedings, often bloviating about both his importance, as he usually does, and of the hearings themselves. During one scuffle, the thirteen-term Congressman from the tiny state of Maryland reminded everyone that “he is the chair!” This was not the first time he’s bellowed in a televised proceeding of his exalted position, forgetting entirely he works for us, not the other way around.
Anyway, Cummings allowed Cohen, reading from a script and singing like a canary, to ramble on ad nauseum of his shame of having the bad judgement of representing an evil cretin like Donald Trump as his personal attorney. But now he has seen the light and would like to clear up his name and do the right thing for his family. I wondered if he started going to church too.
To hear Cohen talk, Donald Trump may very well be the anti-Christ. Later in the proceedings, it was pointed out by Ohio representative Jim Jordan that Cohen was on Mr. Trump’s payroll for ten years. He speculated that Cohen’s new-found repentance may have come about due to Cohen not getting a seat at the adult table within the White House. It should not come as a surprise to anyone that Mr. Cohen denied this vehemently. What he did not deny though is there are book and movie deals in the works.
Is there any doubt this entire proceeding was nothing more than another Swamp carnival show, that will go on throughout the rest of the Trump administration? Consider that the disgraced Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who should be in prison herself, Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Rashida Tlaib all sat in judgement in the proceedings. As per usual, Tlaib shot off her mouth, this time without four letter words, to label Representative Mark Meadows a racist because he brought out a black witness to claim Trump isn’t a racist. You see, in the Swamp, no self-respecting Liberal body, or Muslim in this case, can go without labeling someone racist, a worn-out tactic that’s supposed to strike fear in the hearts of anyone within those cross hairs.
When I began my research for this commentary, I went to the internet to see what was being said. If you ever doubted me about a biased media, which a couple of readers of this paper have recently pointed out the error of my ways, this is a good place to start. Here is a sample of the primary links:
Why the Cohen hearing was so jaw-dropping - NBC News
6 takeaways from the Michael Cohen hearing - CNN (The first takeaway was of his “remarkable accusation! I’d like to point out again, he is going to jail for lying!)

And finally, what I also learned in my research: Lawmakers are prohibited by strict rules about disparaging their colleagues. I’ll leave that one right there.
